In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the debut of the 500 Series Shinkansen, which boasts immovable popularity for its beautiful streamlined form, Seiko is inspired by the Evangelion Shinkansen "500 TYPE EVA", for which this special train commemorates the 40th anniversary of the opening of the entire Sanyo Shinkansen line and the 20th anniversary of the TV broadcast of "Neon Genesis Evangelion", it ran from Nov 2015 to May 2018, it makes a round trip between Shin-Osaka and Hakata once a day.
The colours and design of the dial are based on the front image of "500 TYPE EVA", and the motifs such as the parabola that imitates the long nose that is the symbol of the 500 series. Inspired by the windshield of a bullet train, the glass of the watch uses a curved hardlex that draws a gentle arc.
The case back cover is engraved with the official "500 TYPE EVA" logo and the edition number as proof of the limited number of 5,000 pieces.
